A considered desktop
A graphical environment and native applications, developed together as parts of one experience.
An independent desktop operating system
Your computer. Your own space.
Lumen is an exploration of what a personal computer can feel like: a considered desktop, practical tools and room to make it your own.
In active development
Practical at heart
Files, applications and a shell: familiar ideas that give you room to explore, build and get things done.
No account required
An account is never required to use Lumen. Your desktop does not depend on signing in.
Built around the person using it
A desktop with its own point of view.
An independent project, taking shape one part of the everyday computing experience at a time.
Still taking shape
An ongoing project, with more to come.
Lumen is still in development, with no public download available yet. Any future Hub services will be optional additions to the OS.
